Strayer University






Strayer University established in 1892. It is located in United States. Strayer University founded by Dr. Siebert Irving Strayer, his aim was to teach business skills to former farm workers with shorthand, typing and accounting. After getting huge response from students, another campus was established in Washington DC. Now Strayer University has 80 campuses in 24 states. It is also an online university. Students can complete Bachelor and Master Degree Programs online via internet.
Strayer University has about 40,000 students in which two-third are women. 
For those who want to take admission in Strayer University must have diploma for Bachelor degree. For graduate, one must have a minimum 2.75 undergraduate grade. Admission for executive MBA requires 3.0 point grade for undergraduate, five years of management experience and completion of admission application.  
 Financial assistant is provided for needy students , many students receive financial aid to complete their studies from federal government financial aid program or education assistance program operated by the US department of defence.

Oxford University






Oxford University of UK is an oldest university and worldwide famous. Its establishment date is not confirm but there is evidence of teaching as far as 1096. Oxford University motto is Dominus Illuminatio Mea (Latin) (The Lord is my light) Thirty-Eight constituent colleges are part of Oxford university and many academic department divided into four divisions. 22,116 students are studying in Oxford University including 11,772 undergraduate, 9,850 postgraduates and 494 other students.  Twenty seven Nobel laureates and twenty six British Prime Ministers are passed out from Oxford University.
There are 38 associate colleges of the Oxford University and six permanent private halls, to become a member of Oxford University, it is necessary for all students and most academic staff must a member of college or hall. In 1875 Oxford University passed a statute for women to allow the examinations at roughly undergraduate level.  

Oxford University has largest library system The Bodlean, in UK consisting of 11 million volumes. The Bodlean Library is founded by Sir Thomas Bodley in 1598 and opened in 1602. In 2000 The Bodlean Library Group was founded to bringing the bodlean library and some subject libraries together. Now Bodlean group is consist of 28 libraries.
A number of museum are maintaining by Oxford University that are free open for public. The oldest museum in UK is Ashmolean museum founded in 1683.
Oxford University Press is the world largest press by publications. Annually more than 6000 books are publishing by Oxford University Press.
Every student of Oxford University must have academic dress for examination, matriculation, disciplinary hiring and when visiting university officers. Colleges held major event is Balls and punting is common activity by students in summer.  Sports competition are usually held betweencolleges.
Students of Oxford University has also a Union “Oxford University Student Union”.
58 Noble Prize winners are from Oxford University as a faculty or student. Twenty six British Prime Ministers have studied at Oxford Univeristy.
Oxford University remains among top ten universities of the world in different league tables. Oxford is the regularly competitor in Uk with Cambridge University.

University of Karachi






In 1950, after Pakistan establishment, government of Pakistan started relevant educational institutions of higher learning and research under the policy guideline of Prime Minister Pakistan Liaquat Ali Khan. In 1951, Karachi University was founded through Parliamentary authorization as a “federal university” in Karachi.  It is the biggest university in Pakistan.  Almost all colleges in the city of Karachi is affiliated with University of Karachi. Karachi University is situated at University road, next to Gulistan-e-Jauhar.  First it was near to civil hospital but it was a small campus then shifted at University road.
Dr. Ahmed Haleem was its first vice chancellor. In 1953, two faculties were started their education activity including faculty of Arts and faculty of Sciences.  Karachi University motto is رَبِّ زدْنيِ عِلْماً (Arabic) (O’my Lord; advance me in knowledge).
Karachi University has 3500 staff including academic and administrative staff. Currently approximate 80,000 students are enrolled with Karachi University.
Karachi University is also a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities of the United Kingdom. In a very short span and with compare to other universities, Karachi University has risen to attain a high grade in the field of education in Pakistan as well as in region.  Physics department and statistic department are one of the well known and research from these departments are plays an imperative role for the development of Science and technology in the country while Department of Mathematics is the largest department in the faculty of Sciences which has three floors including an electronic laboratory for computational mathematics. Furthermore, many well-known designers, artist and architects have passed out from Visual studies department of Karachi University. Faculty of Science has 23 departments and five research institutes, that is largest scientific centre in the country.
Karachi University has produced 600 M.phil, 300 PhDs, 7 D.Sc and 7 D.Litt. Teachers from Karachi University are also involved in research works and contribute regularly for publications. In2006, 506 research papers were published by the faculty of the university.
Karachi University has also started an evening studies program in 1995 for those people who want to continue their studies during jobs or services. Recently Karachi University has introduced four years degree program to bring the university at the international standard.
Karachi University has a big library established in 1952 named Dr. Muhammad Hussain Library, situated on a building includes six reading rooms for general and six rooms for researchers. Library is consisting of 400,000 volumes. Karachi University library is manage by 25 librarians, 10 assistant librarians, and around 90 non-professional staff who help to manage the library. Extra curriculum activities are also arranges for students in university, like annual fair, book fair, science exhibition or art exhibition etc.
Karachi University Press publishes books, texts, periodicals and other items through the Karachi based Oxford University Press.
Now there are 53 departments in Karachi University and 20 different research centers and institutes.
Karachi university is situated on a vast area consist of 1,279 acres (5.18km).  Shelters are used to pick n drop students from main gate to their relevant departments.

Melbourne University




Melbourne University is Australia’s best university. Melbourne University was founded in 1853. It was establish by Hugh Chiders, who was the auditor general and finance minister. Melbourne University’s first chancellor was Redmond Berry. In 2003 Melbourne university celebrated its 150th anniversary. Melbourne University consists of academic staff including 3,586 and Students 38,281.
Melbourne University has eleven academic units and there are twelve residential colleges located in main campus. Its rank remains on no.1 in Australia and no.33 in world top ranking of best universities.
Four Australian Prime ministers and Five Governors General have passed out from Melbourne University. Melbourne University motto is Postera crescem Laude (in English: May I grow in the esteem of future generations).
Melbourne University has a big library who has 3.5 million items including books, DVD, photographic slides, music scores, prints and as well as other publication material. This library has three million visitors every year.
Melbourne University has seven campuses across the Melbourne and rural Victoria including Parkville campus. Its main campus is Parkville campus that considers the heart of Melbourne University. Parkville campus has situated for 160 years.  Parkville campus has 12 libraries consisting 3.6 million books and other stuff,150 plus student clubs, 40 plus sporting clubs and 25 plus cafes. Seven Nobel laureates have been student or faculty from Melbourne University.  
Other campuses are Metropolitan Melbourne in Burnley where horticulture courses are taught, South Bank campus where Performing Arts are taught, Hawthorn campus where commerce courses are taught, Werribee campus where Veternity science is taught. Creswick and Dookie campuses are located in regional Victoria, they are used for forestry and agriculture respectively.
Melbourne University has 39 affiliated clubs, sports activity is always favourite in Melbourne. Usually in mid- August Melbourne University’s students celebrated “Prosh Week” during this week students involve in various activities and winner team claimed “Prosh Week Trophy”.

Melbourne University is also associated with several art institutions and three museums including Grainger museum having collection of  musical cultural artifact, The Medical History Museum covering the history of medical profession in Victoria and the Harry Brookes Allen Museum of Anatomy and Pathology where about 8000 specimen are placed regarding to medical and other health sciences.
